MEET PRANJAL JAIN

Experiencing first hand the lack of resources for victims of bullying in her district, Pranjal’s organizing journey started at just 12 years old when she created an anti-bullying curriculum and delivered workshops to health classes in her district and local library. When Pranjal turned 15, she discovered that she spent the first seven years of her life undocumented. This shocking discovery led her to understand how her experiences and identities fit into the world around her. From organizing a peaceful rally centered around acceptance after the 2016 election cycle, to creating curriculum and initiatives centering Menstrual Equity, Anti-Sexual Harassment, and Gun Control, organizing became an essential part of Pranjal’s journey in claiming space for herself and making space for others.
At 17 years old, Pranjal joined the Gen Z Girl Gang team as their Associate Director. GGG aims to redefine sisterhood for our generation, and with them, Pranjal organized multiple events and initiatives centering women owning their power and skill sharing, such as the Demand and Disrupt Summit, and the Art of the Cold Email workshop. In 2019, Pranjal founded Global Girlhood, a non-profit dedicated to adding representation for women in media, education, and leadership by inspiring storytelling and pioneering global citizenship at a youth level.
Today, along with serving as Founder and Executive Director of Global Girlhood, Pranjal is the Co-Host of Brown Sugar, a podcast about love, feminism, and sex, for and by Brown girls. She uses her organizational and digital development skills to empower women of color whether it be by serving on political campaigns or writing to bring awareness for platforms like Brown Girl Magazine. Pranjal is a sophomore majoring in Industrial Labor Relations at Cornell University, and uses her voice to make change.
